Allison Lyerly, O.D.

Optometric Physician

Dr. Lyerly was raised in Clemmons, NC.  After graduating valedictorian from North Carolina State University, she attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN.

While in Optometry school, she was trained in three externships including a rotation at the Veteran’s hospital in Salisbury.

“Living and working in this area represents a dream come true for me. I practice in a top-notch office dedicated to passionate, personal and precise service and I get to live where I call home.”

Dr. Lyerly graduated from the Southern College of Optometry School in Memphis in 2013 and joined Carolina Center for Eye Care directly.  She has a special interest in pediatric eye exams, binocular vision training, ocular disease, diabetic eye exams, and contact lenses.

She is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and the North Carolina State Optometric Society.  While in school she was active in the College of Optometrists in Vision Development at SCO and the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society.

Dr. Lyerly has a passion for binocular vision training, a therapy program designed to help improve visual skills that cannot be effectively treated with glasses, contact lenses, or surgery alone. In the fall of 2016 she began coordinating care with Insight Vision Training Center, a facility dedicated to serving the visual needs of the surrounding Davie, Forsyth and Yadkin communities.
